Acupuncture Services at West Asheville Aesthetics & Wellness (Asheville Acupuncture, Cupping, Gua Sha)

Welcome to the acupuncture page at West Asheville Aesthetics & Wellness, where we’re excited to offer you holistic healing through the ancient practice of acupuncture. Led by Rebecca Evans, DACM, L.Ac., RN, a licensed acupuncturist with both Western and Eastern medical training, we provide customized treatments designed to support your health, vitality, and wellness.

Whether you’re seeking relief from chronic pain, stress, or looking to enhance your skin’s natural glow, acupuncture can help restore balance to your body and mind. Below, we answer some common questions about acupuncture and what to expect from our services.

What Is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a key component of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that involves inserting thin needles into specific points on the body. These acupuncture points are strategically placed along energy pathways, known as meridians, to encourage the flow of Qi (pronounced “chee”), the body’s vital life energy.

This practice helps to harmonize the body, promote healing, and alleviate various physical, emotional, and mental health concerns. Acupuncture is safe, effective, and supported by research, and it offers a holistic approach to wellness by addressing the root causes of imbalances in the body.

What Are the Benefits of Acupuncture?

Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years to address a wide range of health concerns. Some common benefits include:

  • Pain relief (e.g., back pain, headaches, joint pain)
  • Stress reduction and anxiety relief
  • Improved sleep quality
  • Enhanced circulation
  • Support for digestive issues
  • Hormonal balance and fertility support
  • Skin rejuvenation and beauty benefits

Rebecca combines her knowledge of both Western medicine and TCM to offer you an integrative approach, ensuring that your treatment is tailored to your unique needs.

What Can I Expect During an Acupuncture Treatment?

Acupuncture treatments are designed to be relaxing and rejuvenating. In your initial consultation, Rebecca will take a detailed health history to understand your concerns and goals. Based on this assessment, she will create a personalized treatment plan. Most treatments involve the gentle insertion of fine needles, which are usually painless or cause minimal sensation.

In addition to needling, other techniques such as cupping, gua sha, and moxibustion may be used to enhance the healing process, depending on your needs. If you’re seeking cosmetic acupuncture, Rebecca also incorporates facial needling, facial cupping, and facial gua sha to help improve your skin’s appearance and vitality.

What Types of Acupuncture Services Do You Offer?

We offer a variety of acupuncture treatments to address different health concerns and goals. All appointments are tailored to your specific needs.

Follow-up treatments focus on maintaining and improving your skin’s health and radiance. This includes the continued use of facial needling, cupping, and gua sha to target fine lines, wrinkles, and promote overall skin rejuvenation.

Herbal Consultation

30 Minutes – $45
Herbal medicine is an integral part of Chinese Medicine. In this session, Rebecca will offer personalized recommendations for herbal remedies to complement your acupuncture treatment and support your overall health.

Fire Cupping & Gua Sha

Included in your acupuncture treatment as needed
Both cupping and gua sha are traditional Chinese therapies that promote circulation, reduce muscle tension, and enhance the flow of energy. These therapies may be included in your acupuncture session based on your individual treatment needs.

What Is Cosmetic Acupuncture?

Cosmetic acupuncture is a natural and non-invasive treatment that helps to enhance your skin’s health by promoting circulation, stimulating collagen production, and improving skin tone. Unlike invasive procedures, cosmetic acupuncture works by treating underlying imbalances within the body—such as hormonal imbalances, stress, or inflammation— to support the body’s natural ability to heal.

Rebecca uses a combination of facial needling, facial cupping, and gua sha techniques to target fine lines, wrinkles, and other skin concerns. By addressing both internal and external factors, cosmetic acupuncture helps restore balance to your skin and enhance its natural beauty.
